Philippe Laffont is the Founder and Portfolio Manager of Coatue. Philippe leads the Firm’s public and private investing businesses. Prior to founding Coatue in 1999, Philippe was a research analyst at Tiger Management where he focused on the telecommunications sector. He started his career as a management consultant for McKinsey & Company and spent several years as an independent consultant. Philippe graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a B.S. and M.Sc. in Computer Science.

Thomas Laffont is the Co-Founder of Coatue and the Chief Investment Officer of Privates. Thomas is responsible for launching Coatue’s private investing business and spearheading Coatue’s annual East Meets West (EMW) Conference, a gathering of global technology founders and executives. Prior to joining Coatue in 2003, Thomas spent seven years at Creative Artists Agency where he focused on representing artists in motion picture and television. Thomas graduated from Yale College with a B.S. in Computer Science.

Jaimin Rangwalla is Chief Investment Officer of Publics at Coatue. Jaimin is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Firm’s public investing business, as well as several other investing strategies. Prior to joining Coatue in 2007, Jaimin was an investment banking analyst at Merrill Lynch in the M&A division. Jaimin graduated from The Stern School of Business at New York University with a B.S. in Finance and Accounting.

Nathan Urquhart is the President and Head of Strategy at Coatue. He is responsible for firm-wide strategic initiatives and operational leadership. Prior to joining Coatue, he was a Partner and Global Head of Investor Relations at Carlyle from 2019 to 2022. Before Carlyle, Nathan spent 11 years at Och-Ziff Capital Management (now Sculptor Capital Management) and, earlier in his career, worked in UBS’s Private Fund Group and in corporate finance at J.P. Morgan. He graduated summa cum laude from Washington and Lee University.
